How to Add Amazon Product into Wordpress Blog Post

By

Wordpress is an excellent platform for niche blogs or product review blogs. With the help of plugins you can feature amazon or other affiliate network products inside wordpress blog post. This is only possible if you're using the right plugins on your niche blog because some plugins has limitations for showing the products the way you want. You can't cut and paste the code in TinyMCE and publish your post because it strips out the HTML code.

In such cases all you need to do is use the right plugin for your wordpress blog. In this hub, you'll learn about two wordpress plugins that lets you edit blog post to display amazon product.

Method 1 - Amazon Product in Post Plugin (Free)

  • Download Amazon product in post plugin from wordpress plugin repository.
  • Install and activate plugin.
  • Go to Amazon AWS to get security keys from - My account > Security credentials > Public Access Key and Secret Access key. Copy these keys into notepad and save the file.

5. Open new post link in wordpress dashboard. Write the product review as usual and after completing your post scroll to the bottom of editor. You'll see amazon product in post editor with configuration settings.

6. Add the Amazon ASIN ID. Set your product to display for single page/post so that this product will not appear on frontpage and annoy you and readers. You can make respective settings like - product as content, below the content, top of content etc. Choose the settings that fits your blog.

7. Publish your post and view how product inside your blog post looks and make necessary changes in settings the way you want.

If you want to feature single product per blog post then this plugin is really helpful but in case of multiple product shortcodes plugin is much better.

Method 2 - Amazon Widgets Shortcodes (Free)

1. Download and Install the amazon widgets shortcodes plugin from wordpress repository.

2. Now you can create your post using TinyMCE editor in new post page. You'll see small icon in editor that lets you ASIN Code, tracking ID and other configuration options.

3. Use copy/paste options that pastes HTML from amazon associates inside the blog post.

4. Now that product code is in place you can publish and see the results the way you want. Re-edit the shortcodes options if you want to view different product display options.

This plugin will feature multiple products inside your blog post.

Method 3 : Premium Plugins

If you're willing to spend few bucks in order to get a better plugin for wordpress then PhpZON and WP-Zon builders are the two plugins that you can use effectively to monetize your niche blog. You can also use WP-robot to add amazon products in your blog posts and even automate them using keywords, content without having to touch any code.

If you're new to amazon niche blogs monetization then i suggest you to take a look at Amazon profit plan book that will teach you step by step on how to build niche amazon blogs.

I know this is bit complicated to new bloggers so if you need help on any specific point then feel free to ask in the comments.

Good stuff, I had not heard about the plugin. That's what I love about WordPress, however. If there is a reasonable need, someone will crate a plugin.

Hi, I've got a question for you :-p : what is the Amazon ASIN id? Is this on each product at Amazon? I can't seem to find it! Thanks :)

skyfire 18 months ago

Hi anna, ASIN ID is amazon's way of labeling products in shelf. You can find this 10 digit ID on almost every product page. When you go to any amazon product page just hit CTRL+F on your browser and type 'ASIN' and it'll be highlighted for you. Hope this helps to find ASIN ID. :)
